A leader in the genre of the contemporary voice, Jay Clayton’s teachings and vocal techniques have been heard across North America. Clayton has made it her life’s work to innovate and push the limits of her instrument, singing everything from the classic jazz standard to the furthest boundaries of new music. This is a technique workshop where Jay will demonstrate and perform certain vocal techniques - participants will be trying out these techniques in various ways. Although participants will not be performing publicly, they will need to sing within the workshop.This intensive workshop is for experienced vocalists; topics covered will include vocal technique, improvisation, sound production and style.
