We can’t wait to welcome back all our amazing volunteers for the 39th annual TD Halifax Jazz Festival

Volunteer Crew Perks

The below volunteer crews come with some incredible perks!

Access Control:

The Access Control Crew helps keep our community safe by providing eyes on the audience, guarding designated entrances and emergency exits and ensuring audience members are acting safely while on site.

Access Control Requirements:
-A passion for community safety
-Keen observation skills
-Confidence in interpreting and complying with instruction
-Friendly yet assertive communication skills
-First aid an asset
-Security training an asset
-Standing or sitting for long periods of time
-Must be 19+ years of age

**Will have to complete a mandatory online training**

The Safety Crew welcomes all persons with disabilities to the team. Please discuss your placement needs with your team lead who will help place you in a position that best suits you.
Accessible washroom facilities are available on site. 
The venue is outdoors and is accessible.

Bar Crew:

Bar Crew will conduct transactions and serve drinks to patrons at Main Stage, with support and guidance from Bar Staff. You may also provide back-of-bar support, such restocking supplies.

Volunteer Bar Crew should be comfortable working with Point of Sale (POS) technology and serving drinks that have a twist or tab, easy to open. Training will be provided by Bar Staff.

Bar Crew volunteers must be 19+

MANDATORY *Every person working the Bar Crew will have to take a mandatory Responsible Alcohol Service Course which will be paid by Halifax Jazz Fest.  We will reach out with more details if you are accepted for this position*

Site Crew:

The Site Crew helps manage the Main Waterfront Stage site. We are the pretty-uppers, helping to keep the site looking great. We are at the gates, keeping count of our audience. If someone needs help with an umbrella, or a sign needs to be moved or if there are plants that need watering, we do a little bit of everything!

Site Crew Requirements:
- Friendly communication skills
- Team player
- Standing or sitting for long periods of time
- Bending and reaching

Safety Crew:

The Safety Crew helps keep our community safe by providing eyes on the audience, guarding designated entrances and emergency exits and ensuring audience members are acting safely while on site. This year, health care professionals will be a part of the Safety crew and will help us employ our safety plan and maintain the safety tents. This can mean responding to substance overdoses, health or medical incidents and waiting with attendees until EHS arrives. The description for the Safety crew can be found below.

Transportation Crew:

This crew makes sure that artists are picked up and dropped off where they need to be, when they need to be there. This is a great crew for folks who are safe drivers, mature, organized, punctual and friendly.

Volunteers with this crew must be over 19 and have a valid drivers license. Proof of a clear driving record may also be required.

Shifts and hours will vary.
